I first tried this form of exercise 3 weeks after I had my second daughter. So, that would be back in September. I know, overachiever. (But I was trying to impress upon myself that chasing a toddler around with a big belly for several months is a form of exercise.) I enjoyed it so much that I got a DVD to use at home, and went online to find out where I could take a class.
I have got to say, when I got to class there was excitement in the air, anticipation really.
And then the beat started, and BAM! I was a fan and already couldn't wait until the next session!
I described it to my dear friend as the same energy you feel when (CAUTION: pre-baby lifestyle flashback) you went out and danced all night. Remember that carefree excitement? That adrenaline rush!
Or, if you were a cheerleader or song leader in highschool, it's the same feeling as when half-time is called and you go out and perform a spot-on routine.
At least, this is how I feel about it.
The 50-something year old woman beside appeared to have felt the same way.
And so did that awkward college boy.
"Please, tell me, what it's called!" I leave you in suspense no longer . . .
ZUMBA
Try it, you'll like it.
Not to mention, you'll feel those obliques on the side of your waistline tighten once again & oh, and a great rush of energy! It's a win-win because it doesn't feel like you're working out!
Dont' take it from me: My mom started Zumba-ing last Summer & she has dropped a lot of weight. My mom does not like to exercise and now she is A-D-D-I-C-T-E-D to Zumba! and a healthier lifestyle! (side note: YOU GO, MOM!)
The excitement is infectious and I think we moms need that a few times a day, don't we?
Yes, you do!
